No codes on scanner however, I have a light misfire, rapid fire if I kick it down on a hill. But it's there but not constant. Again, it's not throwing a code. Is this mainly a vacuum leak? I just got the car, and it appears it still has factory plugs and wires. Any help would be great. I thought I had it when I replaced a vacuum hose yesterday. But it's back today. Thank you anyone and everyone. Chuck

I have experienced this issue many times. Here is an excerpt from a TSB. Even though the bulletin states the issue will occur above 3,000 RPMs, I have had it happen under medium to hard acceleration as low as 2,500 RPMs.

Some 2000-2003 Taurus, Sable, Ranger vehicles equipped with a 3.0L 2-valve gas or FFV engine may exhibit a buck/jerk/miss during drive cycles above 3,000 RPMs with no diagnostic trouble codes (DTC's). A possible cause is the camshaft synchronizer assembly. Since the camshaft position (CMP) fault monitor is not active above 2,500 RPMs, no diagnostic trouble code (P0340) is set during the drive concern, thus making it difficult to diagnose the root cause component.

The recommended repair is to replace the camshaft synchronizer.
